The coqui is a type of frog. The females are actually thirty percent larger than the males. They can be brown or grayish with many color patterns. These type of frogs live on the forest floor and eat mainly insects and small arthropods. Its predators are snakes, birds, and larger animals.

Their babies are not born as tadpoles they are born as tiny frogs. There are sixteen species of coquis, three are extinct, and another two are in danger of extinction. Males sing to attract females, they sing at night or on rainy or cloudy days. Both females and males vocalize against intruders to their territory most species are tree dwelling, but some do have a land habitat.
