This is about the Kinkajou. The Kinkajou is approximately 1.5 feet long and it weighs approximately 6.5 pounds. The Kinkajou is closely related to the raccoon. Like raccoons, Kinkajous eat bugs, fruit, flowers and other small creatures. The Kinkajous live in the lower part of the canopy.
The Kinkajou is sometimes called the " Honey bear" because of the color of its fur. Its fur is very soft and fluffy. It has a prehensile tail for grasping branches. They have a round face and round little ears. They also have a face similar to a cats. They also have a tongue that can get up to 5 inches long. That's really long if you ask me. The Kinkajou is about the size of a domestic cat. And it gives off a musk-like odor. Some what the smell of a skunk.
The female only gives birth to one baby at a time. They mate all year round. It takes up to 115 days for the baby to born. In mating the male sniffs and nips at the females neck. The female carries her young on her stomach when she fells the baby might be in some sort of danger.
